JOB SUMMARY – The City Clerk gives notice of all official meetings, keeps the journal and minute books of their proceedings, authenticates by her signature and record in full, in a book kept for that purpose, all ordinances and resolutions. She prepares and posts meeting agendas for the Council and all City Boards according to the Open Meetings Act. The City Clerk serves as the election official for all City elections, general and special. She is the custodian of the official city seal and attests the mayor’s signature on all official documents and performs all other duties required by charter or by ordinance.
PERSONAL PROFILE – Judy VanHouten, TRMC – is a 1987 Graduate of Gladewater High School. With the exception of 12 years spent in the Dallas area, Judy is a lifelong resident of Gladewater. She has worked for the City of Gladewater since 2009 and was appointed City Clerk in April 2018. Her son, Brian and step-daughter, Holly are her biggest fans. When not attending to city business she loves to read, crochet and spend time with her family.
