Veolia Water North America has operated the
city of Gladewater's entire public works department
since 1996.
The treatment system comprises a 2-million-gallon-per-day
(MGD) surface water plant, 40 miles of collection
lines and finished water storage; and a 1.4-MGD
wastewater plant, 40 miles of collection system
lines and lift stations.
Significant Accomplishments
- Installed a SCADA system
for automatic sampling and process controls,
renovated lift stations, replaced activated
carbon filter media at the water treatment
plant

Received a new 10-year agreement after
fewer than 5 years of service

Initiated a meter changeout program that
resulted in an additional $60,000 increase
in water billings after the first 500 meters
were replaced

2003 Business of the Year from Gladewater
Chamber of Commerce

Outstanding Performance award from the
Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission
in 1997
