Lake Gladewater was constructed
in 1952 to provide the citizens of Gladewater
with an ample supply of water for many future
generations. Today, this pristine 6,950 acre-foot
spring-fed lake is surrounded by beautiful homes
and is also enjoyed by fishermen and boaters.

About the lake - Garland P. Ferguson Park sits on the western
shoreline, offering picnic areas, playground,
tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts,
pavilion, swimming area, paddle boat rentals,
boat dock and a lighted fishing pier.
The Lake Store has fishing supplies, live
bait, snacks and cold drinks. Call the Lake
Store at (903) 845-5041 for information regarding
store hours, to reserve the pavilion or to
obtain boat ramp permits.

About the lake WARDEN - Richard Ross serves as Lake Warden at Lake Gladewater and operates the concession there. As warden he oversees all activities at the lake and park.
Just prior to coming to Gladewater, Richard was employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a parole officer for seven years. He spent 10 years as a meat cutter with a major grocery chain then went back to school at the age of 38 to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas Baptist University with a double major in Business & Behavioral Science.
Richard enjoys fishing, hunting and reading in his spare time and has been married since 1974 to his high school sweetheart. They have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
