Welcome to Gladewater
Fire Department's official website. The
Gladewater Fire Department is a "combination
department" with a staff of 13 full time
paid firefighters and approximately 5
volunteer firefighters. There are 3 shifts
A,B & C that work 24/48 seven days a week
consisting of a captain, lieutenant &
2 firefighters.
The department
has different personnel certified in different
fields, Arson Investigator, Fire Cause
& Origin, Fire Inspector, Method of Teaching,
with all full time employees certified
through the Texas commission on Fire Protection.
It is our desire
to serve the taxpayers of this community
to prevent the loss of life and property.
The Fire Chief
supervises the department Monday thru
Friday, from 8-5 and is available during
those hours.
The
department equipment consists of:
- 3 main engines with a pump capacity
of 1000 gallons per minute
- 1 main engine with a pump capacity
of 1250 gallons per minute
- 1 grass truck
- 1 rescue boat
- 1 light duty rescue truck
- 1 regional response trailer/mobile
communication
- 2 pick-ups
The department will
receive a new 2500 gallon capacity tanker/pump
combination engine which will allow the
department to carry more water to rural
areas for firefighting activities.
The City of Gladewater's
current ISO rating is a "6".
The Gladewater Fire
Department's coverage area is approximately
85 square miles along with having mutual
aid agreements with all neighboring departments
to assist them in a time of need.
